Online Quran Memorization is accelerating at a rapid pace. The occurrence of COVID-19 provided people the courage to proceed in this domain. Mosques and Islamic schools were closed in most countries. There was no other option but to initiate memorization pursuit in the digital landscape. Several academies emerged to help aspiring individuals accomplish their Hifz goals.

A close evaluation shows that there are stark differences between traditional and digital modes of learning the Quran. The latter comes with multiple benefits, some of which are:

  • Safety – You don’t need to leave your haven and have a heart-to-heart connection with the Quran from the comfort of your homes.
  • Flexibility – It gives you the ease to pick your suitable time and days.
  • Location – Instead of driving long distances, you have to step into a quiet room of your home and take the classes.
  • Save money – Generally, the online academies are charging less than traditional, on-site academies.
  • Variety – You can pick one or more than one course at once.
  • Native tutors – Reaching to native tutors might be demanding in offline institutes. But you can quickly assess native tutors online to learn the Quran in the correct dialect.
  • 24/7 online support – Professional supervisors are constantly assessing classrooms to ensure the quality of classes. Students and parents can contact the admin and discuss how to improve the structure.

How to Make This Mission Successful?

A Muslim who memorizes the Quran will reap countless rewards in this life and the next. According to the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him):

“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”

It is essential to acknowledge that the Quran memorization requires the active participation of the student. Unlike other courses, the student has to work at their best capacity. They have to learn lessons regularly and keep all previous studies in the loop.

Therefore, it is essential to understand vital considerations when opting for an online Quran memorization course. Some of which are as follows:

1. You Have To Be Regular

Punctuality is the core principle of the online Quran memorization course. One cannot afford to skip classes as they can’t progress without regular lessons. Plus, they might forget their previously learned lessons if they miss classes.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“The example of someone who knows the Quran is that of a hobbled camel. If he attends to it, it stays with him. If he lets it go, it escapes.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5031)

Hence, if you intend for your child or yourself to memorize Quran online, make sure you have enough time to be regular throughout the journey.

2. Recite and Repeat

This journey is not like a usual Quranic course. You cannot read a lesson once or twice and leave it. Instead, it would help if you recited the lessons repeatedly. You can repeat it a few times by looking at it in the Juz. After that, try reading the lesson without opening the Quran. You should also try reciting the learned portion in Salah. This is the best way to retain the lesson at an optimal level.

3. Seek Pardon From Allah

Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“No man recites the Quran and then forgets it, except that he will meet Allah on the Day of Qiyamah with his hands cut off/with no excuse.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 1469 with a weak chain. Refer: Fathul Bari, Hadith: 5038)

Before you jumpstart the journey, seek forgiveness from your Lord (SWT). Without His (SWT) assistance, you may end up failing. Make sure you pray to Him (SWT) for His help throughout the journey.

Plus, if you forgot a memorized portion, seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT).  All of your sins get erased if Allah (SWT) is with you. So make sure you ask Him (SWT) for His (SWT) mercy.

4. Cut Down the Useless Habits

This will be a mission that occupies most of your time. Make sure you devote your hundred percent effort. As you proceed in your learning, you will find it tough to manage the routine. You should remember that Hifz is your priority. It would be better to eliminate extra activities such as late-night hangouts with friends, following your favorite TV series, or reading irrelevant literature.

All such activities are a distraction. They could make you forget the lessons and also keep you disturbed during the online classes.

Parting Thoughts

Quran memorization is a huge undertaking. Every individual who begins this journey needs to be consistent, devoted, and attentive. If you make this Book your priority, you will find all your issues being resolved magically. Allah (SWT) lifts all worries from someone who dedicates a considerable part of his life to His Book.
